ABSU Delays 2023/2024 Admission List Release – Management – The management of Abia State University has dismissed as fake, information circulating on social media claiming the university has released its 2023/2024 admission list and is requesting payment of acceptance fees.
In a statement on Monday, the governing authorities of the university strongly warned the public not to fall prey to fraudsters spreading false information. According to the statement, Abia State University has not released any admission list for the 2023/2024 academic session, neither has it demanded any payments for acceptance or other fees.

The authorities emphasized that the university was still processing admissions for next year in line with laid down procedures prescribed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). It assured that the first batch of the 2023/2024 admission list will be released at the appropriate time.
The statement described the false admission list and payment claims as antics of scammers aimed at defrauding innocent citizens. It reiterated that as a centre of excellence, Abia State University does not compromise on academic standards or violate JAMB admission guidelines.

The university recently received an award from JAMB for full compliance with admission regulations in the 2021/2022 academic session. It has also been ranked among the best state universities in the country by the National Universities Commission.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Onyemachi Ogbulu, the university remains committed to academic excellence, transparency and the highest ethical standards in its operations. He enjoined the public to wait for official communication from the university regarding the 2023/2024 admission process.

The governing authorities advised the public to disregard any information concerning Abia State University admissions for next year until an official announcement is made by the university. It also urged citizens to be vigilant about online scams involving the university.
