A Complete Guide to gaining Admission into the School of Nursing in Nigeria

There are two possible options available for one to study nursing in Nigeria. Firstly for those who intend to study nursing in the university is to undertake a five-year course in any university of their choice. Secondly, there are schools of nursing across the 36 states in Nigeria, one can also enrol in the three years programme.

In order to gain admission into any nursing schools in Nigeria, one is required to have completed his/her secondary school education with at least 5 credit level pass in WAEC, NECO or GCE at not more than 2 sittings. The required subjects are English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Health Science.

School of Nursing is being described as a post-secondary school institution where individuals who have the desire to become a nurse could go for intensive training. On graduating from the school, one would become a certified nurse and would also be able to work in any institution or organization.
