Chamberlain University organizes its academic calendar around the needs of individual students rather than traditional semester schedules. Each 16-week semester comprises two 8-week sessions. Students progress through the curriculum on personal academic calendars based on their enrollment or re-enrollment date. This flexible system creates two overlapping calendar cycles that correspond to Chamberlain’s spring, summer, and fall semesters.
A student’s academic terms are designated as either Cycle 1 or Cycle 2. Cycle 1’s spring semester includes January and February, the summer semester includes May and June, and the fall semester includes September and October. For Cycle 2, the spring semester covers March and April, the summer semester includes July and August, and the fall semester encompasses November and December. Regardless of the cycle, all sessions conclude on the Saturday of the eighth week.
