COOU Deputy Vice-Chancellors Re-elected for Second Term
COOU Deputy Vice-Chancellors Re-elected for Second Term – Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University has re-elected Prof. Mathias Ozoemena Ananti and Prof. Osita Igwebuike Chiaghanam to serve a second term as Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administration and Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academics, respectively. The re-election took place during the 126th Senate Meeting held on Thursday, October 26th 2023 at the university’s Igbariam Campus.

Prof. Ananti, a Professor of Public Administration with research interests in human resource management, public policy and development studies, first assumed the role of Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administration in October 2021. He previously served as Dean of Student Affairs from 2018-2021 and Head of the Department of Public Administration from 2016-2018.

Similarly, Prof. Chiaghanam, a Professor of Geology focused on sequence stratigraphy and sedimentary rocks, first took on the position of Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academics in October 2021. He has served the university in various academic leadership positions over the past 15 years, including Head of the Department of Geology from 2009-2012, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences from 2018-2021, and Coordinator of the Pre-Degree Science Program from 2013-2014.

The re-election was conducted by Prof. Emeka Obi, Director of Academic Planning, and Prof. C.O.A. Ugwumba, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture. We congratulate Prof. Ananti and Prof. Chiaghanam and wish them continued success in their roles overseeing the administrative and academic operations of Nnamdi Azikiwe University. Their re-election demonstrates the university’s trust and confidence in their leadership.
