As a student trying to figure everything out, seeing all those dates and deadlines makes your eyes glaze over a bit. But when you take time to look it over carefully, You will realise how valuable this calendar is, in planning out the school year.

The 2023-2024 calendar gives a helpful high-level view of how the key semesters and sessions fit together at CSUDH. Going through, you would see how they structure the year around Fall, Winter, Spring, Spring Intersession, and a Summer term. Knowing when each session starts and ends helps in planning not just classes, but also work, family commitments, vacations – all sorts of big-picture stuff.

What you may find most useful are the specific milestone dates – things like when registration opens, when tuition is due, the last days to add or drop classes, when assignments need to be completed, etc. Having those critical deadlines mapped out means you know exactly what you need to do and when to avoid any penalties or issues. June 5-September 5 – Registration via MyCSUDH – fees due 48 hours after registration
September 6-September 21 – Registration via MyCSUDH – fees due at time of registration
May 29 – Memorial Day Holiday – No Classes, Campus Closed
June 1 – First Day to file for Spring 2024 Graduation
July 1 – Fall 2023 Graduation Application Deadline – without late fee
July 4 – Independence Day Holiday – No Classes, Campus Closed
August 21 – Academic Year Fall Semester Begins
August 23 – General Faculty Meeting and Provost Fall Meeting
August 25 – Instructional Preparation Day
August 27 – Last Day for students Waitlist to be added to classes; all waitlists will be cancelled at midnight.
August 28 – Classes Begin
August 28-September 15 – Late Registration and Add/Drop via MyCSUDH – fees due 48 hours after registration September – Fall Convocation (Date To Be Announced)
September 4 – Labor Day Holiday – No Classes, Campus Closed
September 8 – Instructor Drop Deadline
