EKSU Management Denies Additional Portal Fees – The management of Ekiti State University (EKSU) has denied allegations that it imposed additional fees of N49,000 on students. In a statement on Wednesday, the university described the allegations as fake news.

“The attention of the EKSU management has been drawn to an online report claiming the university has imposed extra fees of N49,000 on students. We wish to categorically deny this allegation and state that we are not aware of any such illegal fees,” the statement read.

It added that the alleged illegal fee is not part of the ongoing revalidation exercise for students. “No student should pay this unauthorized fee,” it emphasized.

The institution said it has commenced investigations to uncover the source of the false information. It appealed to students to disregard the fake news and go about their academic activities normally.

The news has been generating buzz on social media platforms with the hashtag #SayNoToExtortion. Some students expressed concerns that the additional fees could compound the financial difficulties they already face paying tuition.

EKSU management assured that it remains committed to making education affordable and urged students to report any attempts to impose unauthorized charges.
