Note: The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has made it clear to the general public that there will be no registration for any candidate who doesn’t have National Identity Number (NIN) for the forthcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

You can get National Identity Number (NIN) from any of its centers, locate any of its centers around you, and get yourself registered. 

It’s tweeted that the Board would ONLY register candidates with NIN.

JAMB 2020/2021 REGISTRATION FORM RELEASE DATE

UPDATE: As we earlier said, UTME JAMB Registration for 2020 has already commence.

So, when is jamb 2020 registration starting? Professor Ishaq Oloyede, The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board ( JAMB) registrar, announced that JAMB registration will commence on January 10, 2020.

According to a released statement, there will be no deadline extension.

COST OF JAMB 2020/2021 REGISTRATION FORM  

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) 2020 registration price has been reduced from Five thousand naira (N5000) to Three thousand five hundred nairas only (N3500).

The reason why the cost of Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME) has reduced was being explained by The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). 

The fee has been reduced to relieve the load of the cost of the examination on parents.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, who is the Board’s Head of Media, said this on Wednesday on the stretch of reacting to the reduction announced by the Federal Government.

***The Statement Reads;***

* “President Buhari authorized the reduction in the cost of forms for the NECO, JAMB, and the Basic Education Certificate Examination fees on Wednesday.

It was made known at the weekly Federal Executive Council held Wednesday, where the minister of education, Adamu Adamu, announced that “the President has directed the ministry to look into the reduction following the important improvement in revenues being diminished to the treasury by the education agencies.”*

Now the cost of JAMB form 2020 are enumerated below;

`~ JAMB 2020 registration form: N3,500

~ JAMB CBT 2020 Registration fee: N700

~ JAMB 2020/2021 textbook: N500

JAMB 2020 EXAMINATION DATE

A lot of candidates have been yearning to know when is jamb 2020 starting. It was earlier stated that March 16, 2020, will be the starting date of the examination. It has been confirmed that it will no longer start on the proposed date.

However, the date of the examination has not been fixed, and kindly ignore information concerning the date of the examination.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR JAMB 2020

Before we move to the central part of how to register for jamb, the following documents are needed;

  • Your email address and mobile phone number.
  •  Create your JAMB profile.
  • JAMB ePIN registration payment.
  • Visit any accredited CBT centers with the personal details, the profile, and evidence of payment.
  • Register and collect your E-slip printout.

Creating *e-mail* for Registration

It is the basic steps before you kick start with Jamb 2020 signup. In Lay Word, an email address is for online messages.

A Gmail account is preferred because it can be easily created at any point in time.

Below are steps on how to create a Gmail account;

  • Go to www.gmail.com
  • Click on create account
  • The signup form will show, input the required information (first name, last name, username, and desired password)
  •  Click on the “NEXT” button, enter your phone number for verification of your account.
  • A few seconds later, you will receive a confirmation text containing confirmation code from google on your phone. Input the code to complete verification.
  • Click on verify.
  •  A form is shown where you will input your personal information (Date of birth, Gender). Click “NEXT” when you are done.
  • Review Google terms and conditions and Privacy Policy, then click “I AGREE.”
  • Your account will be created when you have properly input the necessary pieces of information.

Note: If you already have an email account, you need not create another.

How to Create a JAMB Profile

To partake in the jamb 2020/2021 registration candidates are expected to create a profile on the jamb website.

  • Visit the Jamb Official portal www.jamb.org.ng.
  • Look close to the Post-registration facility, a login button is displayed.
  • Click on the login button.
  • Here comes the new page.
  • Click on the “create new account button” to start your Jamb profile creation.
  • You will be asked to verify your email. If you don’t have an email, follow the instructions above on how to open an email. 
  • Click on “select” to choose a security question from the shown menu. E.g., what is your mother’s maiden name?
  • In the last two spaces (Secret question-answer), enter the same answer. If your mother’s maiden name is Comfort, input it in the last two spaces and click on verify.
  • A dialogue box will be shown requesting you to verify your email. 
  • Go to your email and confirm it. If not found, check your spam folder. 
  • Click on the link sent by JAMB to you to continue the registration.
  • Thereafter, you will be asked to fill in the following details: Name, surname, email, password, and date of birth.
  • Then create the account.
  • After creating the account, login to view your Jamb Profile.

JAMB E-pin Registration Payment

1. Each applicant will be registered with one mobile phone number only. The Cell phone number used to create the profile code is automatically tied to the Candidate’s name and will be used in all communications related to his/her 2020 Application.

2. Candidates should send their names (Surname, First Name & Middle Name) by text (SMS) to 55019. It should be a maximum of 38 characters and two spaces between names = a total of 40 characters.

3. The Candidate receives a Profile Code on the registered phone number.

4. The Candidate are requested to present the Profile Code at the point of procurement of the form (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, USSD Partners). The JAMB form ePIN is then sent as a text message to the Candidate’s mobile phone.

5. The Candidate is expected to show the ePIN at any JAMB accredited CBT Centre for proper UTME registration.

More details about the e pins will be disclosed on January 10, to confirm the above procedures.

Registration Guidelines at CBT Centers

  • When you have successfully gotten your E-pin.
  • Proceed to any jamb CBT accredited center around you.
  • Provide Biodata, which includes Date of Birth, Nationality, State of Origin, Local Government, email address, Gender.
  • Provide a choice of institutions and programs.
  • A request of qualification with grades and dates, if not awaiting the result
  • Upload relevant certificates, if not awaiting the result.
  • O level and or A level results are to be provided by candidates. Candidates who are awaiting results should supply the results online on JAMB’s portal as soon as they are available. 
  • Provide UTME subjects and choice of examination town(s) for the Mock examination.
  • Do picture capture (no scanning of passport photograph)
  • Do Biometric enrolment.
  • Print Registration Slip USING BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION
  • Each Candidate is required to collect his/her e-slip at the end of registration as evidence of registration.

Any candidate registered outside approved centers will be disqualified.

CLOSING DATE FOR REGISTRATION

The deadline for sales of the JAMB 2020 form, which is the closing date is February 21, 2020, that is Six weeks after commencement.

The chairman of The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Dr. Emmanuel Ndukwe has encouraged candidates taking the 2020 UTME to register now that there is no pressure or crowd in the centers

All candidates are expected to prepare their fees and get the necessary details. However, the JAMB registrar will extend the date, but there will also be a deadline.
