JAMB CAPS 2023/2024 admission status monitoring and confirmation – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) portal is now active for the 2023/2024 admission exercise. This enables candidates to monitor their admission status and know if they have been offered admission by their institutions of choice.School News Portal
In a statement released today, JAMB disclosed that universities have begun uploading their admission lists onto the CAPS portal. The board advised all candidates who sat for this year’s UTME to frequently check their admission status on the portal to see if they have been offered admission.
According to the examination body, some institutions may not publish their admission lists on their websites or notice boards. The only way candidates who applied to such schools can know their admission status is by checking it directly on JAMB CAPS.JAMB CAPS admission status
To check admission status on CAPS, candidates are to visit the JAMB website, login with their email address and password, then click on ‘Check Admission Status’. This will take them to the CAPS portal where they can view their admission status.
If a candidate has been offered admission, it will be clearly indicated on the portal. The candidate’s details like name, passport photo etc will be displayed with a congratulatory message. For those who are yet to be admitted, a message stating “Sorry, No Admission Has Been Given Yet” will be displayed.
Candidates who receive admission offers are advised to promptly accept or reject the offer online. This enables their institutions to process their admission timely. Admitted candidates can also print out their admission letters from the portal after accepting the offer.
The board notified that the CAPS platform may display only a welcome message when accessed on mobile phones. Candidates using phones are advised to switch to desktop mode on their mobile browsers in order to view the full page and admission status.
With this development, the board has urged all candidates to regularly check their admission status on CAPS, as it remains the only authoritative source of information regarding admissions into Nigerian tertiary institutions for the 2023/2024 academic session.
