Spring 2024

  • January 8 – Students confirm attendance for the spring semester.
  • January 9 – Start of 16-week sessions and first 8-week online only session classes.
  • January 12 – Graduate student registration deadline; late fees applied after this date.
  • January 15 – Martin Luther King Day holiday; campus closed.
  • January 16 – Last day to add classes for 16-week session, excluding online courses. Last day to add and drop first 8-week online only session.
  • January 24 – Census day and last day to drop classes for 16-week session, excluding online courses. Also deadline to drop courses with 100% refund, change course sections, request no credit courses, withdraw with 100% refund, add/drop waitlists, and authorize College Opportunity Fund.
  • January 25 – Spring term bill due date; tuition payment due.
  • January 30 and 31 – Career days; no-assessment days.
  • February 9 – Founder’s Day, Colorado School of Mines 150th anniversary.
  • February 19 and 20 – Presidents’ Day break; no-class days but campus open.
  • February 22 – Last course withdrawal deadline for first 8-week online only session.
  • March 4 – Midterm grades due.
  • March 5 – End of classes for first 8-week online only session.
  • March 11 – Start of classes for second 8-week online only session.
  • March 16-24 – Spring break.
  • March 18 – Final grades due for first 8-week online only session; last day to add and drop second 8-week online only session.
  • April 1-5 – Priority registration for summer and fall terms.
  • April 12 – Last course withdrawal deadline for 16-week session, excluding online courses. Last day to withdraw from 16-week courses.
  • April 12-14 – E Days; no class days on Friday.
  • April 25 – Last course withdrawal deadline for second 8-week online only session.
  • April 29-May 1 – Last week of classes for 16-week session; no exams.
  • May 1 – End of classes for 16-week session.
  • May 2 – Review day; no classes but campus open.
  • May 3-4 and 6-8 – Final exams.
  • May 8 – End of classes for second 8-week online only session.
  • May 9 and 10 – Commencement ceremonies.
  • May 10 – End of spring semester.
  • May 13 – Final grades due for all 16-week and second 8-week online sessions.
  • May 16 – Final spring grades available on transcripts.

Summer 2024

  • May 13 – Start of summer 14-week session and first 6-week session classes.
  • May 17 – Census day and last day to add/drop classes for 14-week session. Also deadline to add/drop first 6-week session courses.
  • May 21 – Summer term bill due date; tuition due.
  • May 27 – Memorial Day; campus closed.
  • June 7 – Last course withdrawal deadline for first 6-week session.
  • June 21 – End of classes for first 6-week session.
  • June 24 – Final grades due for first 6-week session; start of summer second 6-week session and 8-week session classes.
  • June 28 – Last day to add/drop second 6-week session courses.
  • July 1 – Last day to add and/or drop 8-week session courses.
  • July 4 – Independence Day; campus closed.
  • July 19 – Last course withdrawal deadline for second 6-week session.
  • August 2 – Last course withdrawal deadline for 14-week and 8-week sessions.
  • August 5 – Final grades due for second 6-week session.
  • August 15 – End of classes for 8-week session.
  • August 16 – End of classes for 14-week session; end of summer semester.
  • August 19 – Final grades due for 14-week and 8-week sessions.
  • August 21 – Summer grades available on transcripts.
