Pace University was founded in 1906 by the Pace brothers, Homer and Charles. It was originally established as Pace Institute, a business school for men and women who aspired to successful careers in America’s burgeoning economy in the early 20th century. Over the decades, Pace added schools of computer science, information systems, nursing, law, and more. It also expanded its undergraduate offerings in arts and sciences. Today, it hosts over 13,000 students across campuses in New York City and Westchester County. It is classified as a Doctoral Research University by the Carnegie Classification system.
Pace has made its mark by focusing on teaching, civic engagement, environmental initiatives and providing value and opportunity to students from all backgrounds. Its motto is Opportunities, tracing back to its founding mission of opening doors to opportunity through education.
