What Is Pre-degree
Pre-degree like remedial and IJMB helps you get admitted into 200l without JAMB.
Our Pre-degree programmed is designed to be an intensive coaching curriculum aimed at preparing senior high school graduates (senior secondary) for university education.
Given the prevalence of deficiencies students carried over from secondary schools, our Pre-degree programme help students deal with the setbacks that often accompany such circumstances by providing them with a good head-start which will facilitate superior academic performance in the university.
Brief History Of Pre-Degree
With the introduction of the course unit system in Nigerian Universities in the 1977/78 Session, the concessional examination was abolished in 1978 and admission to Universities became centralized through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Well over one million applicants seek admission every year into universities which now have a capacity of about 250,000. The competition is quite stiff and good preparation will result in better performance by the students.
This background establishes the need for a Pre-degree Programme in the arts and the sciences that would serve as a platform to equip prospective students for university admission give them a good head-start and promote superior studentship in the university.
How To Check UNIUYO Pre-Degree Admission List
1. Visit https://uniuyo.edu.ng/eportals or www.uniuyo.edu.ng (Click on e-portals link)
2. Select Admission Forms Link
3. Select e-Form(s) Option
4. Select Basic Studies OR Pre-Degree as the Admission Form Type
5. Enter your Phone Number, Name and Email
6. Click the PAY NOW button to make payment
7. Payment can be make online or Bank branch
8. After payment return to the online portal and click on Register Link to complete your registration
Important Information for the Students of the 2020/2021 Basic Studies Programme:
Above is the list of placement according to eligibility as well as quota for each programme/course. However, please, note the following:
1. As a former student of the Basic Studies programme, you have the obligation of undergoing clearance at the Directorate before you qualify for admission to any undergraduate programme in the University of Uyo.
2. If you passed in TWO subjects, you have been placed in a programme/course.
3. You may have been found unqualified for placement in your course of choice, but depending on your points, you have been placed in another programme/course.
4. You are, therefore, advised to go through the templates carefully and find where you have been placed.
5. By this placement, you are to comply with the guidelines on screening and registration in your respective faculties when the 2020/2021 session commences in the University.
6. If you were a student of Medicine & Surgery or Pharmacy, and you took and passed the year one GST courses during the Basic Studies year, then you are entitled to waivers, whether or not you are admitted for Medicine & Surgery or Pharmacy. But you have to apply duly. Waivers are not automatically granted. You have to obtain information on this matter from your Faculty Officers as you will complete your course registration forms.
7. No faculty Officer will screen any post-Basic Studies student who does not present his/her duly signed clearance form from the Directorate.
