Fall 2023
- March 06 – The online degree application in myBama becomes available for Graduate & Undergraduate students.
- March 27 – Registration for Summer and Fall 2023 begins. Summer and Fall 2023 registration time assignments are now available.
- July 17 – Student Account Payment Plans open; 4x Payment Plan, VA Payment Plan, and Med School Payment Plan Options Available.
- July 17 – Fall 2023 Bill Available.
- July 31 – Student Account Payment 4x Payment Plan closes.
- August 01 – Student Account Payment 3x Payment Plan Option opens.
- August 10 – Fall 2023 Bill Due at Noon and Cancellation (subject to approval). Payment in full or participation in a payment plan is required before noon on August 10, 2023 for all Fall bills. Schedules will be cancelled for students who haven’t paid in full or participated in a payment plan before noon on this date.
- August 14 – Start of Financial Aid Disbursements for Law/LLM.
- August 15 – Fall 2023 Late Enrollment Bill Available.
- August 17 – Start of Financial Aid Disbursements for Fall Full.
- August 23 – Classes Begin for the Fall Full Term.
- August 28 – Med School Payment Plan option closes.
- August 30 – Last Day to Add a Course or Drop a Course Without a Grade of “W” for the Fall Full Term.
- August 31 – Registration Begins for Fall 2.
- September 04 – Labor Day (UA closed).
- September 08 – Fall 2023 Bill Due at Noon. Payment in full or participation in a payment plan is required before noon on September 8, 2023 for all Fall bills.
- September 11 – VA Payment Plan option closes.
- September 11 – Student Account Payment 3x Payment Plan requires 67% down beginning this date.
- September 18 – Constitution Day – (observed; classes in session and UA offices open).
- September 21 – Student Account Payment 3x Payment Plan option closes.
- September 25 – Classes Begin for Fall 2.
- October 06 – Degree Application Deadline. Last day for Graduate & Undergraduate students to submit a degree application online through myBama. Only after petition and approval by the student’s college will an application be accepted after the published deadline. If approved, the student will be assessed a $25 non-refundable late fee in addition to the degree application fee.
- October 11 – Midterm Grade Entry Deadline (11:59 p.m.). Midterm grades are due tonight at 11:59 p.m. Instructors are required to submit midterm grades for all 100- and 200-level courses. Furthermore, midterm grading should be used to submit grades assigned for non-attendance. - October 26 – October 27 – Mid-Semester Study Break – Classes Dismissed (UA offices open).
- October 30 – Registration for Spring 2024 Begins. Spring 2024 registration time assignments are now available.
- November 01 – Last Day to Drop a Course with a Grade of “W” for the Fall Full Term. This is a student’s last opportunity to drop a course. Drops after this date must be approved and processed by the student’s college.
- November 20 – November 26 – Thanksgiving Week – Classes Dismissed.
- November 23 – November 24 – Thanksgiving – Classes Dismissed (UA offices closed).
- December 01 – Last Day for All Examinations and Extended Assignments. The week immediately preceding the final examination period each semester is reserved as a time in which students may concentrate on completing course work and preparing for final examinations. As such, The University prohibits all other examinations and extended assignments during that week.
- December 08 – Classes End for Full Term and Fall 2.
- December 08 – Last Day to Withdraw from the Fall Full/Fall 2 Terms. This is the last day students have to withdraw from the term (all classes) without requiring approval from the student’s college Dean’s office. Withdrawals from the Law School always require approval from the Dean’s office.

- May 22 – Transfer Credit Deadline for Undergraduate Degree Candidates. Deadline for receipt of transfer credit (on an official transcript) for undergraduate degree candidates. If transfer credit is not received by this date, the degree application will be denied and a new degree application will have to be submitted in a future term.
- May 24 – Degree Completion Deadline. All degrees will be either awarded or denied by the Degree Completion Deadline; no degrees will be awarded after the published deadline. It is the responsibility of the degree candidate to ensure all requirements are met at the end of the term by the published deadline. - May 24 – Diploma Address & Diploma Name Change Deadline. Last day for students to make changes to the diploma address in myBama (Click View Graduation Applications link). Any changes made to the diploma address on the degree application after this date will not be reflected in the diploma order and will lead to delays in the receipt of diplomas. Students may edit middle name and suffix on the graduation application. These edits are for the diploma name only and do not change the official name on the academic record. Any other changes to the name must be filed in accordance with the University of Alabama name change policy. Changes made after this date will not be reflected on the diploma.
- June 14 – Diploma Ship Day. Diplomas for graduates will be shipped no later than this date. A notification will be sent to the Crimson email account when the diploma has shipped.
Summer 2024
