The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) Academic Calendar provides key dates and deadlines for students, faculty, and staff to be aware of throughout the academic year. This calendar outlines important events over the next three semesters – Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024.
The Fall 2023 semester begins on August 21st with the start of regular classes. Other notable dates include the beginning of weekend classes on August 26th, the Labor Day holiday on September 4th, Thanksgiving break from November 20th-26th, final exams spanning December 11th-15th, and commencement ceremonies held on December 15th-16th. The Spring 2024 semester commences a bit earlier with the winter session running from December 18th through January 7th. Spring classes officially commence on January 8th with weekend classes starting on January 13th. The week of March 4th-10th is designated as Spring Break before the semester wraps up with final exams and graduation in early May.
Finally, the Summer 2024 semester is condensed with a May session taking place from May 6th-24th before segueing directly into the summer term on May 28th after Memorial Day. Notable summer dates include Independence Day on July 4th.
