TAMU Academic Calendar – See the official Texas A&M University academic calendar showing important dates, academic events, and deadlines.
The Academic Year at Texas A&M University-Kingsville is comprised of the following terms:
- The Fall semester (16 weeks), which begins at the end of August.
- The Spring semester (16 weeks), which begins in mid-January.
- Two Summer terms (5 weeks each), which begin in early June and end in early August.
In this guide, you’ll find a list of all the important dates for the 2023-2024 academic session.
TAMU Academic Calendar: Fall Session 2023
Priority Enrollment begins for Fall 2023 on April 3 at 8 a.m.
Late Enrollment begins on August 7. A $35 late fee will be assessed to students enrolling late.
On August 16, students who have not obtained permission to continue studies will be dropped from all courses under Enforced Withdrawal or Academic Suspension.
The last day to register for fall semester classes is August 18 at 8 a.m.
Blackboard access is available for students starting on August 20.
The First Class Day is on August 21.
On August 25 at 5 p.m., drops will occur for non-payment. Percentage of tuition and fees will be owed. This is the 5th Class Day.
The First Class Day for all Saturday students is on August 26.
From August 28 to August 31, which is the 6th class day to the 9th class day, students may fill out an add/drop form with the Registrar’s Office to be reinstated in classes that were dropped. A $100 Reinstatement Fee will be assessed.
No enrollment will be allowed beyond August 31 at 5 p.m.
September 6 is the 12th Class Day and the Census Date.
On September 7 at 8 a.m., students who did not pay in full or make payment arrangements will be dropped from all classes. Percentage of tuition and fees will be owed. This is the 13th Class Day Drop.
The 20th Class Day is on September 18.
The deadline to submit the Non-Funded Late Enrollment form is September 18 at 5 p.m.
The Mid Semester Point is on October 13.
Title IV 60% of the Semester is on October 25.
The last day to drop a course or withdraw from the current semester is October 26 at 5 p.m.

- November 6 at 8 a.m. for Priority One Group (includes doctoral and graduate students)
- November 7 at 8 a.m. for Post Baccalaureate and Seniors (90-120+ earned hours)
- November 8 at 8 a.m. for Juniors (60-89 earned hours)
- November 9 at 8 a.m. for Sophomores (30-59 earned hours)
- November 10 at 8 a.m. for Freshmen (0-29 earned hours)
- November 13 at 8 a.m. Enrollment opens for all students
The Last Class Day is November 29.
November 30 is a Study Day with no classes.
Final Examinations are from December 1 to December 7.
Commencement is on December 8 at a time to be announced.
Financial Aid Important Dates
Financial aid begins posting to student accounts on August 12 at 11:59 p.m.
The deadline for the Office of Financial Aid to run Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is August 14 at 1 p.m.
The SAP Appeal Deadline is November 1 at 5 p.m.
The verification deadline to receive financial aid consideration for the Fall term is November 1 at 5 p.m.
The last day to submit a Fall Financial Aid Revision Request is November 1 at 5 p.m.
Payment Information Deadlines
Tuition Payment Plans open for enrollment on July 24.
The Payment Deadline, after which a $35 fee is paid, is August 15 at 11:59 p.m.
The Employee Tuition Assistance Scholarship Deadline is August 15.
The First Refund will be Processed on August 15.
Late Payment fees of $35 will be assessed starting on August 16.
On August 17 at 8 a.m., students who have not signed up for a payment plan or paid in full will be dropped for nonpayment prior to the First Class Day (Hard Drop).
Scheduled Drops Dates for Non-Payment:
- August 28 at 8 a.m. for 5th Class Day
- September 7 at 8 a.m. for 12th Class Day
- September 19 at 8 a.m. for 20th Class Day
Percentage of tuition and fees will be owed. Refer to the Withdrawal from the University policy for details.
The last day to pay in full or make payment arrangements is September 6.
Three-peat charges will be finalized to student accounts on September 19.
December 2023 Graduation Deadlines
The Blue and Gold online application opens for December commencement on April 3, 2023.
The Blue and Gold online application closes for December commencement on August 21 at 5 p.m.
The Final Deadline for Colleges to Approve December graduation applications is August 28.
The Change of Name Deadline request to the Office of the Registrar is August 29.
Colleges will submit the Approved List of Candidates to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs on September 8.
The Graduation Cancellation Deadline is November 30, 2023 at 5 p.m.
Commencement is on December 8 at a time to be announced.
Holidays and Breaks
Labor Day Holiday is on September 4.
Thanksgiving Holiday is on November 23-24.
Faculty-Related Information
Blackboard access is available for faculty starting on June 21.
Faculty and Staff Convocation is on August 18 at 9:00 a.m. at the School of Music, Concert Hall.
College Meetings are to be announced.
Departmental Meetings are on August 18.
Mid Semester grades are due via Blue and Gold Connection for all levels on October 19 at Noon.
The last day for faculty to drop students for non-attendance is October 26 at 5 p.m.
Final Grades and Incomplete Contracts are due to the Registrar’s Office via Blue and Gold Connection on December 11 at Noon.

Priority Enrollment begins for Spring 2024 on November 6 at 8 a.m.
The first day back from winter break for staff is January 2. Fee bills and student payment plans will be available.
Late Enrollment begins on January 3. A $35 late fee will be assessed to students enrolling late.
On January 12, students who have not obtained permission to continue studies will be dropped from all courses under Enforced Withdrawal or Academic Suspension.
Blackboard access will be available for students starting on January 16.
The First Class Day is January 17.
The First Class Day for all Saturday students is January 20.
On January 23 at 5 p.m., drops will occur for non-payment. Percentage of tuition and fees will be owed. This is the 5th Class Day.
From January 24 to January 29 until 5 p.m., which is the 5th Class Day, students may request reinstatement for classes originally dropped. A $100 fee will be assessed. Students must complete the Request for Course Reinstatement form and submit it to the Registrar’s Office.
No enrollment will be allowed beyond January 29 at 5 p.m.
February 1 at 5 p.m. is the 12th Class Day and the Census Date.
On February 2 at 8 a.m., students who did not pay in full or make payment arrangements will be dropped from all classes. Percentage of tuition and fees will be owed. This is the 13th Class Day Drop.
The 20th Class Day is February 13.
The deadline for the Non-Funded Late Enrollment form submission is February 13 at 5 p.m.
The Mid Semester Point is March 12.
