In a notice released on Thursday, October 12th 2023, the university stated that academic activities for the first semester will resume on Monday, October 23rd 2023. This was approved at the 58th Statutory meeting of the University Senate held earlier in the day.

The notice directed all students, both returning and newly admitted, to resume on the stipulated date. It highlighted that the matriculation ceremony for fresh students will hold between Thursday November 16th and Friday November 17th 2023.
The students were informed that payment of sundry fees is a prerequisite for registration and matriculation. The university therefore advised new students to pay up before the matriculation ceremony.FUOYE notice on resumption

FUOYE’s Returning Students’ Officer, Mr. John Adams, explained the decision to resume academic activities. “The university management has put necessary measures in place to ensure smooth resumption. Facilities are in top shape and security has been beefed up,” he said.
With this notice, the university is officially back to academic routine after the long holiday. Lectures are expected to commence immediately to cover lost grounds. FUOYE asked students to comply with the resumption date as late comers will face disciplinary actions.
