ECC Academic Calendar – Elgin Community College (ECC) has been serving the educational needs of District 509 in northern Illinois since 1949. Originally founded as Elgin Junior College, ECC was a two-year community college to provide affordable and accessible higher education opportunities in the local area. Over the past 75 years, ECC has grown tremendously and now offers over 90 degree and certification programs across various disciplines like health sciences, business, liberal arts, STEM fields, and career & technical programs.
The Higher Learning Commission accredits the college and serves over 20,000 credit and non-credit students annually. ECC has two campuses—a 150-acre main campus in Elgin and a satellite campus in Hanover Park. Additional courses are offered online and at various off-campus sites. ECC promotes excellence in teaching and student success through academic support services, honors programs, technical training, community education classes, and more.

& Business Center, Early Childhood Lab School, Events Center, and Visual & Performing Arts Center will be open as scheduled.
